Smart Swap Saturday: Cauliflower Pizza
When starting a healthier lifestyle, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by all the products and food on the market. I am a firm believer that simple swaps add up and make a difference over time. Each Saturday I will feature a Smart Swap! These Smart Swaps will be healthier choices and recommendations for your favorite not-so-healthy foods.
Today’s Smart Swap: Cauliflower Pizza
Who doesn’t love a pizza night?! When you’re working toward a healthier lifestyle, pizza can be one of the items many people cut out of their diet. Luckily, now that cauliflower pizza crusts exist- there’s no need to eliminate pizza!
Let’s break it down!

There are about 21 grams of fat and 549 calories in a single piece of DiGiorno frozen pepperoni pizza. These numbers can vary slightly depending on the brand of pizza or type of pizza.
Those number sound bad enough- and we are all likely eating more than one piece. Two pieces of a typical frozen pizza puts you well over 1,000 calories!
Healthy Swap: Cauliflower Pizza
I recently picked up a frozen cauliflower pizza and was truly shocked at how good it was! Also, it is boyfriend-approved!!
Cauliflower pizza, depending on the brand, comes in at 15 grams of fat and 330 calories for HALF the pizza. That’s about 4 slices! There’s also about 12 grams of protein- again, depending on the brand.
My favorite brand of that I have tried is CauliPower. It is available at most grocery stores and online!
Key Takeaways:
- You can eat half of a cauliflower pizza for less calories than one slice of normal frozen pizza.
- Cauliflower pizza is revolutionizing comfort food! Look good, feel good and get those nutrients in on pizza night!
- Bonus: if you like to dip your pizza in ranch, check out this Smart Swap for ranch!
