Easy Healthy BBQ Chicken Pizza
One of my all-time favorite foods is pizza! Rather than cutting entire food groups out of my diet, I like to find healthy alternatives that I can still enjoy. One my favorite swaps is this Healthy Chicken BBQ Pizza. It tastes TOTALLY unhealthy and so delicious!!
I tend to crave pizza and unhealthy foods on the weekend. This is one of our go-to recipes that we love!
Ingredients:
- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 flat bread or whole wheat pizza crust
- 2 strips of turkey bacon
- Onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup natural BBQ sauce (my favorite is G Hughes- it’s sugar-free!)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 TB olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cook your chicken or use chicken that you cooked earlier in the week. Then shred or cube the chicken.
Lay out your flatbread or whole wheat pizza crust. Spread the olive oil on top of the flatbread of whole wheat crust. Then spread half of the BBQ (or your desired amount) on the crust.
Next, add your cooked chicken.
Cook the turkey bacon and finely. Chop the onion as well. Sprinkle both the bacon and onion on top. Add as much onion as desired.
Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Top with cilantro and any other additional veggies you desire.
Drizzle the remaining BBQ sauce over the top of the pizza.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted. If you are cooking a flatbread, you may need less time. Enjoy!!
